ELA- 45-60 minutes
Writing- jot daily + writing prompts / story writing
Math- 45-60 min
Science or Social Studies - 30 min
Special- 30 min

ELA (45-60 min) Does not need to be in one sitting
- Read independently for 30+ minutes a day - Newsela-- Read one article each day and take the quiz. Check your Newsela binder for an assignment. If no new assignments, find an article of your choice, read, and take the quiz. Writing (jot daily) (+ 20-30 minutes 2 to 3 times each week)
- take 3-5 minutes and jot about what you read in a notebook. (Several complete sentences, not just a summary. What did you notice?) - when you finish a book, write long on two of these topics: We Finished a Book! - 2-3 times per week. Set a timer for at least 20 minutes. Open your notebook or a Google doc... time to work on that story that you've been wanting to write! or Write about one of the prompts in the Weekly 5th grade plan. Be sure that you're using paragraphs, correct capitalization, and punctuation. Share google docs with Mr. Campana for some feedback. Art / Music / Library / PE / Computers

1) (5 min) complete one XtraMath session (email Mr. Campana if you need your Pin #) 2) (20-30 minutes) complete one of the assigned sessions of review in your Pearson Investigations account-- log in through Clever ** these sessions of review are listed on the Weekly Plan and assigned to your Pearson Investigations account, click on 'Assignments.' Email Mr. C. if you're having trouble, then move on to Khan Academy or Prodigy until we resolve the issue. This site has been slow... ** If Pearson is not working for you--- continue your Khan Academy--- Do 'Assignments' first, then 'Courses' ( click: student screenshot to see example) 3) Go on Prodigy or Fog Stone Isle (20-30 minutes 4 times/week) Social Studies / Science (30+ min)
M,W- Science T,Th- SS Friday- student choice Social Studies: When you are done exploring links on the weekly plan, add to the 5th Grade Flip Grid. Science: Explore links and activities, then add a Food Chain slide (link is in Weekly Plan) Choose and complete activities listed on the Weekly Plan for 30 or more minutes. Thoughtfully engage with the links provided. Read the articles, watch the videos, complete any writing, etc. Complete the assigned Flip Grid and Google Slide.
