Wonderful Performance!
Our Ellicott 5th graders put on a great show at the two chorus concerts this week! They were also a lot of fun to accompany on the final song. It was a blast to be part of production that large. Thank you to all of the students and adults who helped put it together.
Math Assessments
I sent home a stapled packet of recent math assessments at the end of school today. I need this packet signed and returned to school by Tuesday 11/26. If your child was not at school through the end of the day today, they can take it home on Monday. We will continue to spiral back and review these concepts as the year progresses.
A great place to go for extra 5th grade math practice outside of school is: https://ellicott5.weebly.com/math.html . I'm putting links to games and activities on this site that are accessible for all of our 5th graders. Please take advantage of this resource! The students enjoy and learn a lot from these games.

Math and Language Arts Resources
This week, students were introduced to a fraction world-building website called Fog Stone Isle and an online library called Epic Books. Both are accessible from home and good choices for at home practice.
Fog Stone Isle --- A fantastic interactive website for fraction practice
Epic Books --- A free online library with a fantastic book collection. Great for research.
DARE Role Model Day
Today during DARE, four high school students visited to talk with our class about what to expect in middle and high school. They answered questions and gave our students advice about how to be successful in the future.
Additionally, our class has been working on writing an essay about what they learned in DARE. They will be reading these essays to the class on the 4th and 11th of December.
