Readers Workshop
Our next unit of Readers Workshop is called: Tackling Complexity. Moving Up Levels of Nonfiction. This will be a nonfiction focused unit where we examine text structure, main idea/supporting evidence, tricky vocabulary, and summarizing.
In the second half of the unit, students will work on inquiry-based research projects.
The reading expectation at home will remain Read 20+ minutes and jot, with a bump up to 30+ minutes per day starting in November. Students should use this time to read self-selected books (library books, etc.) These books do not have to be nonfiction.

Olweus Meeting

We reiterated the importance of speaking up when you see bullying happening--- tell an adult at home and an adult at school. We also watched the video below.
